ADVICE TO SUPPORTERS TRAVELLING TO THE CARNEGIE CHALLENGE CUP SEMI FINAL
KICK OFF 2.30PM - SATURDAY, 7 AUGUST 2010
HOW TO GET THERE
By Car (see map on reverse of ticket)
FROM THE WEST
Exit M62 at J24, follow signs for Huddersfield Town Centre (A629). After approximately 2 miles follow the signs for the stadium turning left onto Castlegate ring road, turn left onto Leeds Road (A62), and then follow the car park signs.
FROM THE EAST
Exit M62 at J25, turn left and follow signs for Huddersfield Town Centre (A62) then follow the car park signs.
Parking: There is limited car parking in the vicinity of the Stadium and supporters are asked to respect local residents. Parking restrictions will be in force along parts of Leeds Road to ensure free flow of traffic.
By Train: It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to walk from the Train Station.
By Bus: It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to walk from the Bus Station.
By Coach: Coaches and mini buses should park on the lower level of the St. Andrew's Car Park - follow the red diamond signs on approach to the Stadium. Please contact the Stadium on 01484 484100 prior to the match to ensure that space is available.
Travel and arrive early - the turnstiles will be open from 13:00 pm. Please do not plan to arrive near kick off time as traffic in the area will be heavy and delays are inevitable.
USEFUL INFORMATION
Food & Drink
Food concessions and bars will be open from 13:00 pm until approximately 10 minutes after the start of the second half.
Ground Regulations: In particular please note:-
The Galpharm Stadium is a smoke free stadium and following entry through the turnstiles, smoking is strictly prohibited. There will be no pass-out system in operation.
The Galpharm Stadium & the RFL reserve the right to refuse entry to any person who attempts to enter the Stadium, or to eject any person who is inside the Stadium, whilst drunk.
Fireworks, smoke canisters, knives, bottles, glasses, cans, flags, banners, poles or other articles which might be used as a weapon or missile, are not permitted within the ground and will be confiscated.
The use of foul and abusive language, obscene chanting or racial abuse towards any person is strictly forbidden
Unauthorised persons are strictly forbidden from entering the field of play. Anyone doing so will be removed from the ground.

A large crowd is expected and traffic congestion is inevitable both pre and post match. Please travel early to allow for any expected delays.
How to get there:
By Road:
The ground is signposted from all local motorways and major approach roads.
From the M62 - Leave the motorway at J7 - follow the brown signs marked 'Halton Stadium'
From the M56 - Leave the motorway at J12 - follow the signs for Runcorn/Widnes Bridge - follow the brown signs (Halton Stadium) as you leave Runcorn/Widnes Bridge on the Widnes side.
Please note that there are on-going road works and lane closures on Runcorn Bridge and at times the bridge may be down to one lane which will inevitably cause delays on match day.
By Rail
Widnes Railway Station is approximately one mile from the Stadium. Turn right onto Birchfield Road, then right into Highfield Road. Follow road to stadium.
Runcorn Railway Station is approximately 1 ½ miles from the Stadium. Follow the signs for Runcorn/ Widnes Bridge - follow the brown signs (Halton Stadium) as you leave Runcorn/Widnes Bridge on the Widnes side.
Car Parking
There is no on site public parking at the stadium, however, limited free car parking is available in the Caldwell Road Area - please follow signage. Motorists should be mindful that parking on streets adjacent to the stadium may lead to obstruction and difficulties for emergency services access. street free parking is available at both the Caldwell Road public Car Park and the Council car park at the Municipal Buildings, Kingsway, Widnes. Both car parks are located 150 to 200 yards to the rear of the ground.
NB The local ASDA car park now imposes a 2 hour parking restriction on it's car park - the area is monitored and fixed penalties are levied..
Travelling by Bicycle.
There is secure bicycle storage facilities at the Stadium, (entrance via Lowerhouse Lane). Cyclist should liaise with the Car Parking staff on arrival.
Supporters with Disabilities
There is limited car parking available for blue badge holders on site at the Stadium - passes are available on a first come first served basis via the RFL
Overflow off site parking is available at the Municipal Buildings - there are approximately 10 dedicated bays on site which are available on a first come first served basis. At this point there are no plans by Halton Borough Council to provide a park & ride facility for blue badge holders from the Municipal Buildings to the stadium.
Coach Parking
Drop off and pick up points please follow advisory instructions. Attached Parking of spectators coaches during the event will be at the Halton Council Depot at the lower end of Lowerhouse Lane.

Turnstiles open at 2.00pm
Food & Drink
Concessions selling food, soft drinks and alcohol will be open from turnstiles opening. Bars will remain open for the sale of alcohol until 10 minutes into the second half when they will close permanently
Alcohol is not allowed to be brought into the stadium from outside.
Alcohol, purchased within the stadium, may be taken into the stadium bowl.
There are three bars in the North Stand - access by the top corridor
Hot and cold snacks & soft drinks are available in the ground

Halton Stadium is an all-seater facility - whilst spectators are encouraged to enjoy themselves they are reminded to show consideration for others and remain seated during the game.
